Butterbean along with his mom, Sophie, was my foster puppy for a month. I brought them back from a South Georgia animal control facility when he was 2 weeks old. I named him Butterbean because of the freckles sprinkled across his nose, like a speckled butterbean. He was my little prince. I had to go away on a business trip and so he went to live at the rescue shelter where he and his best pal, Thunder, both became seriously ill. Despite the best medicine and the best vet care, we lost Butterbean on Thanksgiving Day. My heart’s desire is to do a coffee table book on rescued puppies so that all the proceeds can go to Atlanta Pet Rescue to build a new shelter in Butterbean’s memory.
